In just four days only the ninth album Lil Wayne has managed to surpass the record previously held by Jay-Z collaboration album and Kanye West. It is estimated that this album is going to be the highest selling album in the first week of release in a long time.
Previous VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS Coldplay's album is the highest sales in the first week of release version of iTunes. Having long held the honorable record, the duo of Jay Z and Kanye West succeeded in killing it through the album WATCH THE Throne that was launched on August 8.
WATCH THE Throne unfortunately could not last long in this honorable position. THA CARTER IV, Lil Wayne's latest album which was launched on 29 August and then successfully sold 300 thousand copies in just four days. This figure is well surpass the record WATCH THE Throne which reached sales of 290 thousand copies.
According to Contact Music, the album is expected to fetch around 850 thousand copies. Quite surprising considering the album was leaked and circulated on the internet before its release date.
